Mike Morter began his career as an Electronics Technician at Siliconix UK in 1970, later heading up an in-house test equipment group. Relocating to Siliconix corporate headquarters in 1978, Mike continued to design test equipment and was soon promoted to Test Manager. In 1985 Mike joined ATE start up Attain, which was later acquired by Teradyne. Continuing his career path in start-up ATE ventures, he joined AOT which then was acquired by HP. Mike continued to work as a Technical Sales Manager for HP, until 1992 when together with partner Gordon Leak, founded the ATE Company TMT, Inc. TMT specialized in low cost analog IC test systems, their premier product being the ASL 1000. Today, there are over 3500 ASL 1000 systems in operation worldwide. TMT partners sold the company to Credence in May of 2000, at which point Mike retired. In May of 2006, continuing to follow his passion for ATE start-ups, he co-founded Focused Test Inc. in order to design and manufacture a premier power discrete and power IC test system, the FTI 1000.

Peter started his career in test equipment as a sales and service engineer in Europe, based in the UK, Russia and France working for material test company Instron and ATE company Schlumberger Test (formerly Fairchild Test). In 1984 he was transferred to Schlumberger’s Singapore office as Asia Pacific general manager and then to Schlumberger Test’s HQ in San Jose CA in 1986. He returned to Instron to run the Western US sales region for several years and joined TMT in 1996 as VP Sales and Marketing. After the acquisition of TMT by Credence in 2000 Peter continued to work for Credence in several management assignments, including 18 months in Germany managing SZ Test Systems. Peter left Credence in 2004 and worked for Eagle Test before joining Focused Test in May 2007 as president and board member.

Gordon’s career covers 20 years in design of ATE and 10 years in design of telecommunications equipment. He worked with Mike Morter for Siliconix from 1978 to 1983 and he then pursued a career in telecommunications equipment. He worked for ROLM/IBM/Siemens in Austin TX as a design engineer for ROLMPhones and also set up an automatic assembly line. He later worked for Octel Communications in San Jose CA developing voicemail products. In 1992 Gordon joined Mike Morter to co-found TMT, Inc. where he was VP Engineering and CTO and headed the ASL 1000 design team. After the acquisition of TMT by Credence in 2000, Gordon continued to work as design manager at Credence until he retired in 2003. In November 2008 Gordon joined Focused Test as Vice President of Engineering, and board member.

Noah incorporated Phoenix Unlimited, Inc, in 2000 to offer test program development to users of the ASL 1000 test system. Phoenix Unlimited later developed a new instrument for the ASL 1000 which is now in use in multiple customer sites. Noah co-founded Focused Test with Mike Morter in May 2006. He is company secretary and a board member of Focused Test.
Academic qualifications: Associate Science in Multimedia Communications and Presentations and is also a current commercial photographer.
Jenny began her career in computing in 1978 at Tentime, a DEC PDP-11 timesharing company, in Boulder, CO. Since then Jenny has worked on a broad range of hardware platforms and operating systems, using a number of different languages and software tools. She has worked in several startups – one of which she co-founded, and independently as a consultant. Jenny has had various software development roles including senior developer, technical lead, and technical director. She joined Focused Test in 2007, is the current architect of the Focused Test system software, and is a member of the board.

Mike’s career covers applications engineering with semiconductor companies and R&D design with ATE companies and he has extensive experience managing design teams and engineering projects. His career in semiconductor companies includes test engineering for National Semiconductor and test engineering manager for Linear Technology. In the ATE industry he has worked for LTX/Trillium, Credence and 3MTS. Mike is the original architect of the Focused Test system software and is a member of the board.
